A Conversation on Justification

The Church in Dialogue, an ecumenical ministry focussed on hosting theological conversations between Christians, hosted an event in Cincinnati, Ohio, on the topic of Justification. Glenmary was pleased to partner with TCID for this event, which was held at the beautiful Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains.

This event brought together Catholics, Baptists and Lutherans to discuss the topic of justification by posing the question, “How is a person saved?”

Dr. Alan Mostrom (Mount St. Mary's Seminary & School of Theology), Dr. Roland Ziegler (Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne-CTSFW), and Pastor Tim Scott (First Baptist Church Independence) presented on this topic from the perspective of their respective communion. Significant time was also given to dialogue with one another along with answering questions from the more than 130 attendees packed into Synod Hall.

The success of this event shows the continued interest around theological topics, even difficult ones. It also reveals the need for continued dialogue together in order to overcome past wounds, misunderstandings, and the need to seek Truth, who is the person of Christ, together.
